I’ve stayed in many hotels over the years and I can honestly say Shangri-La Sydney has been one of my favourites. The room was large and very comfortable, the views were breathtaking, not only during the day but also at night. I didn’t want to go to sleep – I wanted to watch the world go by.
From the time we checked in, to the time we left, the experience was 5 star. Not only was the room exceptional, but also the amenities were excellent and the staff were super friendly and willing to help.
The only thing that made me laugh was a lounge chair which was in my room near the window. I am sure it was a designer piece, but I couldn’t quite figure out how to sit in it or what to do with it.
As a special treat for my dad’s 80th birthday, we booked a room for mum and dad at the hotel and their experience was also incredible. When my parents arrived in their room, they found a special birthday cake for them to enjoy.
The problem with staying in such an incredible hotel is that I have since compared every other accommodation I stayed in and very few have measured up.
