I recently stayed at Shangri-la Sydney and absolutely loved it, so when my travel agent recommended a Shangri-la property for our Cairns getaway, I was excited.
The room was very comfortable, with beautiful views of the marina. The beds were soft and cozy, complete with luxurious sheets and blankets. We felt right at home. And, of course, we could watch the boats come in and out of the marina from our big balcony. It was a spectacular scene!

We opted for an outer reef cruise out of Port Douglas with Quicksilver Cruises, which was incredible and I would highly recommend it. However, if you don’t have a lot of time there are a number of Great Barrier Reef experiences you can have directly from your front door, as many cruises leave from The Marina, just outside the Shangri-la hotel.
